TLV7031 - Small-Size Nanopower Low-Voltage Comparator

The TLV7031 and TLV7041 are single-channel, low-voltage, nanoPower comparators. Thesedevices are available in an ultra-small, leadless package measuring 0.8 mm × 0.8 mm as well asstandard 5-pin SC70 and SOT-23 packages, making them applicable for space-critical designs likesmartphones, smart meters, and other portable or battery-powered applications.

The TLV7031 and TLV7041 offer an excellent combination of speed and power, with apropagation delay of 3 µs and a quiescent supply current of 335 nA. The benefit of fast responsetime at nanoPower enables power-conscious systems to monitor and respond quickly to faultconditions. With an operating voltage range of 1.6 V to 6.5 V, these comparators are compatiblewith 3-V and 5-V systems.

The TLV7031 and TLV7041 also ensure no output phase inversion with overdriven inputs andinternal hysteresis, so engineers can use this family of comparators for precision voltagemonitoring in harsh, noisy environments where slow-moving input signals must be converted intoclean digital outputs.

The TLV7031 has a push-pull output stage capable of sinking and sourcing milliamps ofcurrent when controlling an LED or driving a capacitive load. The TLV7041 has an open-drain outputstage that can be pulled beyond V_CC, making it appropriate for leveltranslators and bipolar to single-ended converters.
