DAC7811 - 12-bit, single-channel, serial input multiplying DAC with 0.2us settling time

Updated : 2020-01-09 14:29:51
Description

The DAC7811 is a CMOS, 12-bit, current output digital-to-analog converter (DAC). Thisdevice operates from a 2.7-V to 5.5-V power supply, making it suitable for battery-powered and manyother applications.

This DAC uses a double-buffered 3-wire serial interface that is compatible with SPI,QSPI™, MICROWIRE, and most DSP interface standards. Inaddition, a serial data out pin (SDO) allows for daisy-chaining when multiple devices are used.Data readback allows the user to read the contents of the DAC register via the SDO pin. Onpower-up, the internal shift register and latches are filled with zeroes and the DAC outputs are atzero scale.

The DAC7811 offers excellent 4-quadrant multiplication characteristics, with large signalmultiplying bandwidth of 10 MHz. The applied external reference input voltage(VREF) determines the full-scale output current. An integrated feedbackresistor (RFB) provides temperature tracking and full-scale voltage outputwhen combined with an external current-to-voltage precision amplifier.

The DAC7811 is available in a 10-lead VSSOP package.
