TAS2560 - 5.6W Class-D Mono Audio Amplifier with IV Sense

Updated : 2020-01-09 14:23:11
Description

The TAS2560 is a low-power, high-performance, digital input, boosted Class-D Audioamplifier that can be easily implemented in both mono and stereo (x2) applications. The devicefeatures an ultra low-noise audio DAC and Class-D power amplifier which incorporates speakervoltage and current sensing feedback for use with speaker protection algorithms.

A Class-H boost converter generates the Class-D amplifier supply rail. When the audiosignal requires only a lower Class-D output power, system efficiency is improved by deactivatingthe boost and connecting VBAT directly to the Class-D amplifier supply. When higher audio outputpower is required, the multi-level boost re-activates tracking the signal to provide the additionalvoltage to the load.

A configurable on-chip Battery Guard system reduces the audio output power during theperiods of low battery voltage to minimize the battery dropping below system brownout conditions.Additionally, faults such as brownout, over-current, and over-temperature can be reported back tothe host processor using the IRQ pin. All protection statuses are available via a registerread.
